Austin, TX – July 2025 — In a compelling story of global mentorship and purpose-driven leadership, Alan Stalcup, Principal of GVA Real Estate Group, is being recognized for his long-standing mentorship and guidance to Morris Kabuye, co-founder of Youth Consult, a Christian youth-led nonprofit based in Uganda.
Founded in 2018, Youth Consult operates in Uganda’s most underserved regions — including the heavily marginalized Butambala District — to empower youth through education, discipleship, and vocational training. With over 75% of Uganda’s population under the age of 35, the organization responds to urgent national challenges including unemployment, high illiteracy, and a growing identity crisis among young people.
“Ugandan youth are not a problem to be solved — they are a generation waiting to be unleashed,” says co-founder Morris Kabuye, who was inspired to launch Youth Consult after receiving educational support through the African Children’s Choir.
Kabuye first met Alan Stalcup in 2011 during an entrepreneur training program in Kampala. What began as a professional connection quickly evolved into a decade-long mentorship marked by thoughtful guidance, personal development, and strategic decision-making.
“Alan has mentored me spiritually, professionally, and personally,” says Kabuye. “His questions challenge me to think long-term and stay grounded in purpose. That mentorship has influenced many of the key decisions I’ve made in building Youth Consult.”
Stalcup’s mentorship has deeply influenced the organization’s strategic vision, encouraging a holistic approach that combines faith-based leadership, education, and entrepreneurial training. The nonprofit now runs a vocational training center, a nursery school, and a 9-month discipleship and mentorship program, all tailored to equip Uganda’s youth with practical skills and purpose.
“Alan’s support comes through wisdom,” Kabuye adds. “He offers perspective and helps me lead with both faith and intention. His example continues to inspire me and many of the youth we serve.”
In 2023, Stalcup traveled to Uganda with his daughters to visit Kabuye and witness the impact firsthand. The experience, Stalcup shares, was deeply meaningful.
“Youth Consult is more than a nonprofit. It’s a movement grounded in faith, stewardship, and transformation,” says Alan Stalcup. “It’s been an honor to walk alongside Morris as he leads with vision and purpose.”
As Youth Consult continues its work across Uganda, including plans to expand its mentorship program into more schools and develop boarding facilities to serve remote students, the organization welcomes global partners through prayer, skills exchange, fundraising, and equipment donations.
