Jacksonville, FL — The Alan Stalcup Scholarship continues its mission of supporting students who are committed to creating meaningful change through education, leadership, and service. The program’s newest recipient, Vivianna Rivera, is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Finance at the University of Central Florida.
For Vivianna, financial education is more than a career path — it is a personal mission shaped by firsthand experience and a desire to help others build lasting financial stability.
Growing up, Vivianna witnessed the impact that limited financial knowledge and resources can have on individuals and families. Those experiences inspired her to pursue a future in financial advising, where she hopes to guide others through financial challenges and help them build stronger, more secure futures.
Beyond her long-term goal of becoming a financial advisor, Vivianna also plans to establish a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing accessible financial literacy education to high schools across the country. Her vision is centered around equipping young people with the tools and confidence to better understand saving, budgeting, responsible spending, and long-term financial planning before entering adulthood.
“I’m truly grateful to have been selected as a recipient for this scholarship,” Vivianna shared. “With this support, it means that I can breathe a little easier, knowing a decent amount of my college is taken care of. My goal in life is to graduate debt-free, and with this scholarship, it has brought me one step closer to reaching that mark.”
Vivianna believes financial literacy is one of the most important yet underserved areas of education for younger generations. She hopes her future nonprofit can help students avoid the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck by teaching practical financial skills early in life.
“I’ve seen people my age swipe their card like it’s nothing, spending everything they have, and then barely scraping by until their next paycheck,” Vivianna explained. “I want to teach young people the importance of saving money, spending wisely, and understanding where to put their money so they can build a better future.”
