Starting this July, the program will now award two scholarships monthly, doubling its commitment to educational support and community growth.
One of July’s recipients is Jenna Becker, a rising sophomore at Augustana College, who embodies the very values the scholarship was created to support—creativity, resilience, service, and leadership.
“Jenna’s story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when talent and purpose align,” said Alan Stalcup. “Her passion for art, athletics, and giving back mirrors the community-first vision we strive to uphold across GVA communities.”
Empowering Students Through Art, Advocacy, and Athletics
Jenna is currently pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree in Art and Psychology, blending her creative gifts with a deep interest in supporting others. As a dedicated softball pitcher and coach, she brings the same discipline and team spirit to the field that she applies to her studies and community outreach.
She also serves as a volunteer and teen advocate through the Arthritis Foundation, using her personal journey with an inflammatory disease to inspire and uplift others facing similar challenges.
Her long-term vision? To become a professional artist working in multiple disciplines, mentor the next generation of female athletes, and one day launch a nonprofit foundation that creates inclusive, adaptive sports environments while promoting art as a tool for therapy and self-expression.
