KNOXVILLE, TN — The Alan Stalcup Scholarship continues its mission of investing in students who are driven to grow, lead, and make an impact in their communities. The program’s newest recipient, Marina Roe, is currently an honors student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she is pursuing a double major in Finance and Business Analytics.
For Marina, success is built through precision, discipline, and a commitment to excellence in both academics and leadership.
As a high-performing student, Marina is focused on developing a strong technical foundation in financial modeling, portfolio management, and quantitative analysis. Beyond the classroom, she holds key leadership roles, serving as VP of Risk for Pi Beta Phi and Treasurer of the UT Equestrian Team, where she manages a $30,000 budget — further strengthening her analytical and operational skillset.
Her immediate goal is to earn a position in the UTK Torch Fund, where she can gain hands-on experience managing real capital. Long-term, Marina plans to pursue a career in investment banking or asset management, with aspirations of continuing her education through a Master’s degree.
With the support of the Alan Stalcup Scholarship, Marina can focus fully on her academic and professional development without added financial strain — allowing her to continue building the skills and experience needed to succeed in the competitive world of finance.
“I am incredibly honored to receive this scholarship,” Marina shared. “This support allows me to focus fully on my coursework and my upcoming summer analyst role at Wintrust. Ultimately, this investment in my education brings me one step closer to my dream of pursuing a Master’s degree and building a career in asset management.”
